They are looking for a new People & Development Manager to join their Bristol operation and join their dynamic finance team.

(Hybrid role. 2 days office)

The purpose of the role is to…

Oversee and manage all aspects of the People function, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, employee experience and management development

  • Be the System Administrator for our People system, Cascade
  • Support the company through various communication and engagement campaigns, as well as leading a number of workforce initiatives

Role Requirements;

Team Performance

  • Manage and mentor a small team of professionals focused on Employee Relations and Recruitment, and Management Development, providing management and direction to the department, setting and reviewing clear objectives.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, set team goals and promote professional development opportunities.
  • Developing, documenting and implementing processes to support operational excellence.

Employee Relations (ER)

  • Oversee and guide the team in managing employee relations cases, ensuring timely resolution of workplace conflicts, grievances, and disciplinary actions.
  • Ensure that all ER processes are compliant with relevant legislation  and internal policies.
  • Act as a point of escalation for complex employee relations issues.

Recruitment & Talent Acquisition

  • Support our Recruitment Coordinator to develop and execute strategies for attracting, hiring, and retaining top talent.

Management Training & Development

  • Design and facilitate management development training sessions.
  • Track the effectiveness of training programs and implement improvements as necessary.

System Administration (Cascade)

  • Lead System Administrator for our People platform, Cascade.
  • Maintain system integrity by ensuring data accuracy, troubleshooting issues, and liaising with the platform provider for updates and improvements.
  • Provide training and support to team members on using Cascade for various HR processes.

Internal Communications

  • Write and manage all internal communications related to HR initiatives, such as policy updates, new procedures, and employee engagement programs.
  • Foster an environment of transparency and engagement by ensuring employees are well-informed about HR matters that affect them.

Compliance & Policy Management

  • Accountable for People & Development policies ensuring end user clarity whilst maintaining legal requirements.
  • Ensure the People team adheres to all company policies and employment legislation.
  • Lead the review and support in updating any HR policies to reflect changes in employment law or company practices.
  • Maintain and report on key HR metrics to support business decisions.

Relationships

  • Proactively working with business leaders and key internal and external stakeholders to understand their requirements that help inform recommendations for change.
  • Building and maintaining strong working relationships with external support partners.
  • Managing multiple projects, working with a variety of teams; influencing and advising partners and key stakeholders.       

Personal experience;

  • Relevant experience in team management, employee relations, recruitment and HR system administration.
  • Knowledge of Cascade (or similar HR systems) and experience in system administration, as this is an essential requirement of the role.
  • Strong understanding of employment laws and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop a team.
  • Ability to deliver engaging and effective management training programs.
  • Highly developed relationship building, communication and influencing skills along with personal credibility.
  • A commitment to understanding and delivering against business and stakeholder needs.
  • A commercial mindset, who balances both business needs and best practice.
  • A collaborative approach, who works for the success of the wider team and business.
  • Experience in working with projects and implementing new initiatives.
  • A keen attention to detail, and an agile thinker.
  • The ability to adapt to conflicting demands along with being deadline focused.
  • Strong IT skills, particularly in the use of MS Excel and Office products.
